Western party accessories

Home, home on the range, where the cows and the buffalos play. A
western party can be entertaining for adults and children alike. The
allure of the old west has to be the way they lived their lives. They
had to fight for survival against armed criminals, Indians or through
the advertisity of poor crops.
Come on over y’all
For an adult party, consider a potluck. In the old days, guests would
bring a dish to share so that there wasn’t a burden on the family
hosting. For example, the farmer who ran the dairy would bring the milk
and butter for the get-together. Western party invitation runs the gamut
from cowboys, cowgirls, horses, cactus, sheriff badges and guns. When
sending the invitation, include that it is a potluck along with RSVP
information. As friends call to RSVP, ask if they wouldn’t mind bringing
a Western dish. Offer them choices such as baked beans, Texas toast,
chili, cornbread, hot dogs and corn on the cob. Also, on the
invitations, ask the guests to dress up in western gear such as cowboy
hats, jeans, bandanas and so on.
Backdrop
The backdrop for a western party can be anywhere because party
accessories can transform a room or a backyard into the Wild West. Wagon
wheel decorations can line the wall. Large cactus cutouts, a desert sky
and sand scene or a large brown horse cutout will provide endless photo
opportunities at your party. Have bales of hay and coils of rope sent up
in the front of your house as well as in the backyard. Your tableware
can be matched by selecting western theme packs which contain the
plates, cups, napkins and cutlery needed for the event. Consider a
centerpiece that matches your theme pack or any other western
centerpiece such as a cactus or a cowboy hat. Ceiling decoration could
be strands of paper cowboy boots or of cacti.
Party Favors
There are many great party favors in the western theme. There are
bananas in a wide range of colors, deputy sheriff badges in silver or
gold, and cowboy boots photo holder. A great parting gift for the guest
is a “Wanted Dead or Alive” photo cards in which you place the guest’s
picture taken earlier in the evening. He or she will appreciate the
keepsake as well as your thoughtfulness. Everyone will look forward to
your next party. |
